This is ‘Bladerunner’ a dedication to a famous female humpback whale known for surviving a severe boat propeller strike across her left side and tail fluke up to 30 cm deep! it happened off the coast of Sydney, Australia, in 2001. In 2013 she was re-sighted alongside her newborn calf. She has been documented repeatedly over the years. Such a beautiful story that really touched my heart. 

A little piece of the ocean to bring home. There's something about whales that makes us pause. Perhaps, it's their gentle nature, their sense of freedom, or simply the feeling of being reminded that there is a whole world beyond our everyday one. 

I have created a new collection of handmade ceramic whales to bring a little bit of that feeling into your home. 

They are all individually sculpted by me and and made with a ton of love and care. This one has an olive green/brown glaze and expressive hand-detailed features.  A charming statement piece for any whale lover's home. 

She measures approx 31x9x4cm 12x3.5x1.5"

Voici « Bladerunner », un hommage à une célèbre baleine à bosse femelle connue pour avoir survécu à un violent choc avec l’hélice d’un bateau qui lui a infligé une blessure profonde de près de 30 cm sur le flanc gauche et la nageoire caudale ! L’incident s’est produit au large de Sydney, en Australie, en 2001. En 2013, elle a été aperçue à nouveau aux côtés de son baleineau nouveau-né. Elle a été observée à plusieurs reprises au fil des ans. Une si belle histoire qui m’a vraiment touchée. 

Un petit bout d’océan à emporter chez soi. Les baleines ont quelque chose qui nous fait nous arrêter un instant. Peut-être est-ce leur nature douce, leur sentiment de liberté, ou simplement le fait qu’elles nous rappellent qu’il existe tout un monde au-delà de notre quotidien. 

J’ai créé une nouvelle collection de baleines en céramique faites à la main pour apporter un peu de cette sensation dans votre intérieur. 

Elles sont toutes sculptées individuellement par mes soins et réalisées avec beaucoup d’amour et d’attention. Celle-ci présente un émail vert olive/marron et des traits expressifs travaillés à la main.  Une pièce de caractère charmante pour la maison de tout amateur de baleines.
